No. Do not upload protected health information, patient records, or regulated healthcare files to DocRinse. Healthcare organizations handling PHI usually need a HIPAA-compliant workflow and a signed Business Associate Agreement with any service that creates, receives, maintains, or transmits ePHI. DocRinse does not currently offer that.
No. DocRinse does not send the raw file to an LLM to do the cleaning. The app extracts text, detects likely private details, replaces them in the cleaned output, and asks you to review the result. Text-based PDFs, DOCX files, TXT files, and pasted text are read directly. Scanned PDFs may use server-side Tesseract OCR when available; low-confidence OCR is blocked or warned.

The stricter cleaning setting removes more context by default because privacy matters more than preserving every detail. Use a lighter setting only when readability matters more, and always review the cleaned result.
